# Upward365 vs PerformYard:

## An Honest Comparison for Mid-Sized HR Teams

###### The right tool is the one your people open

If you are evaluating PerformYard as an alternative, expect overlap. Same size of company, same focus, similar price band. This page covers where they differ: how each one gets managers using it, what you know before the first call, and what each one costs at published rates.

## The short answer

PerformYard and Upward365 are built for the same buyer and cover much of the same ground. Upward365 is built around one question: will your managers use it? Every design decision had to answer yes. Every account gets a named Account Manager who knows your configuration, and every Upward365 feature comes at one published price of $8 per user per month. PerformYard sells two suites, each published as a range of $5 to $15 per person per month, with the exact number quoted on a call. The practical difference is one product and one number before the call, against a range and a second suite you may or may not need to buy.

What is the difference between Upward365 and PerformYard?

Upward365 is a performance and engagement platform for companies between 50 and 2,000 employees, built for manager adoption, with a dedicated Account Manager on every account and every Upward365 feature included at a published $8 per user per month. PerformYard sells a Performance suite and a separate Talent Development suite, each published at $5 to $15 per person per month with the exact figure quoted per company.

#### What both platforms cover, and what Upward365 adds

## The core is on both. The difference is what comes with it.

Both platforms run reviews and 360 reviews, cascading goals, 1:1 meetings, continuous feedback, engagement surveys and eNPS, with onboarding and training included. Upward365 covers that core, plus:

---

One number instead of a range.

$8 per user per month, published, and you can check it against your headcount before anyone calls you.

One product.

There is no second suite. Every company gets every Upward365 feature, whether you are 50 people or 2,000.

A price that holds.

Your rate is locked for your full contract term, and it is published.

Why managers open it

## A platform only pays off if managers use it between review cycles.

---

![managers\_see\_what\_is\_due\_without\_being\_chased\_3x](https://upward365.com/hs-fs/hubfs/landing%20page%20assets/managers_see_what_is_due_without_being_chased_3x.webp?width=1824&height=1269&name=managers_see_what_is_due_without_being_chased_3x.webp "managers_see_what_is_due_without_being_chased_3x")

#### Managers see what is due without being chased.

The Dashboard To Do Queue shows every manager what needs attention and links straight to it, so HR stops sending reminder emails in December.

![every\_one\_on\_one\_has\_an\_agenda\_before\_it\_starts\_3x](https://upward365.com/hs-fs/hubfs/landing%20page%20assets/every_one_on_one_has_an_agenda_before_it_starts_3x.webp?width=1824&height=1269&name=every_one_on_one_has_an_agenda_before_it_starts_3x.webp "every_one_on_one_has_an_agenda_before_it_starts_3x")

#### Every 1:1 has an agenda before it starts.

Briefings give managers and employees a shared agenda, so the platform is part of the conversation instead of an extra step after it.

The review opens with the year already in it. Notes, Uplifts and Flight Checks capture what happened while it is still fresh. History Hub surfaces all of it the moment a review opens, so the manager reads twelve months of context instead of the last three weeks.

![the\_annual\_review\_arrives\_with\_the\_year\_already\_in\_it\_3x](https://upward365.com/hs-fs/hubfs/landing%20page%20assets/the_annual_review_arrives_with_the_year_already_in_it_3x.webp?width=608&height=423&name=the_annual_review_arrives_with_the_year_already_in_it_3x.webp "the_annual_review_arrives_with_the_year_already_in_it_3x")

#### Recognition carries into the review.

Uplifts are captured as the year happens and surface in History Hub, so the good work a manager forgot about in March is in front of them in December.

A real person who knows your account

## One Account Manager, from your first call onward.

Every Upward365 account gets a named Account Manager who handles your demo, implementation, configuration and ongoing support. Your Upward365 Account Manager knows how your review calendar is set up, you have their direct number, and questions and calls get an answer the same day. There is no handoff from sales to implementation to customer success, and the founders are reachable when you want them.

## Switching to Upward365

#### One call to see whether it fits.

No pressure ever, and if the answer is no, we will say so on the call rather than after it. But the transition from another platform to Upward365 is straightforward and relatively easy.

![import-icon](https://upward365.com/hubfs/landing%20page%20assets/import-icon.svg "import-icon")

#### Your Upward365 Account Manager sets it up around your calendar.

They work with you to configure the platform around how your review cycle already works and run your training sessions online. You can often import your team and start the same week, and most accounts are fully live within a month, and often sooner, depending on your availability.

![U365 - MAINT - Icon - Landing Page - Calendar](https://upward365.com/hubfs/landing%20page%20assets/U365%20-%20MAINT%20-%20Icon%20-%20Landing%20Page%20-%20Calendar.svg "U365 - MAINT - Icon - Landing Page - Calendar")

#### Sequence the rollout.

Some companies switch on the review workflow and year-round context first, then bring surveys and eNPS online once managers are in the habit. Others roll everything out from day one to take advantage of the link between performance and engagement. It's totally your call. Every Upward365 feature is included from day one, so nothing you turn on later costs more.

What each one costs

## Every Upward365 feature. One transparent price.

Upward365 is $8 per user per month with a $4,000 annual minimum. Every Upward365 feature is included, performance and engagement in the same purchase, along with HRIS integrations, with no fee for setup, implementation or support. Your price is locked for your full contract term, and any change happens at renewal rather than mid-term. Features on the roadmap arrive at your price when they ship.

PerformYard prices in two suites. As of October 2026, its Performance suite is published at $5 to $15 per person per month and includes Reviews, Meetings, Goals, Engagement, Feedback, Surveys and its AI layer. Talent Development is a second purchase, also published at $5 to $15 per person per month. Billing is annual and per seat with volume pricing. No annual minimum is published. PerformYard's own guidance on category pricing notes that minimum annual contracts commonly run from $5,000 to $15,000.

We land inside their range, so we are not going to claim we are cheaper. What we are telling you is the number now instead of after a discovery call, and that there is no second suite waiting on the other side of it. The difference that matters after you sign is predictability: one line item, one product, and a rate that does not move until renewal.

## Upward365 is built for companies of 50 to 2,000 employees.

![u365\_compete\_image\_upward365\_g2](https://upward365.com/hubfs/landing%20page%20assets/u365_compete_image_upward365_g2.webp "u365_compete_image_upward365_g2")

Upward365 can easily support larger organizations, but was designed for the small to mid-sized markets. If you're already outside that range, you may be better served by a platform focused on larger organizations.

If you are shopping for payroll, benefits administration or employee records, that is an HRIS and a separate purchase. Neither Upward365 nor PerformYard is one, and Upward365 works alongside whatever system you use today.

If you are between 50 and 2,000 employees and want a platform your managers open and a person who knows your account and is there to help when you need it, that is exactly who Upward365 is built for.

Frequently Asked Questions

## Common Questions When Comparing Platforms

---

Is Upward365 a good PerformYard alternative?

For companies between 50 and 2,000 employees that want a published price and one product rather than two suites, yes. Upward365 includes Reviews, 360 reviews, Goals, Uplifts, Briefings, Notes, Flight Checks, History Hub, Pulse Surveys and eNPS at $8 per user per month with a $4,000 annual minimum. Organizations with more than 2,000 employees are usually shopping for a broader enterprise suite.

How much does PerformYard cost compared to Upward365?

PerformYard publishes $5 to $15 per person per month for its Performance suite, with the exact figure quoted per company, and a separate Talent Development suite at the same published range. Upward365 is a published $8 per user per month with a $4,000 annual minimum and no second suite. At most headcounts the two overlap.

Does PerformYard charge extra for engagement surveys?

No. PerformYard includes engagement in its Performance suite. Its separate charge is for its Talent Development suite. Upward365 includes engagement as well and does not sell a second suite.

Does Upward365 integrate with my HRIS?

Yes. Upward365 integrates with BambooHR and other major HRIS platforms, at no additional cost. If you prefer, users can also be provisioned by CSV import with a template, and your Upward365 Account Manager will walk through the setup during implementation.

How hard is it to switch?

It is smaller than it sounds. The interface is straightforward enough that managers find their way around without a training manual, your Upward365 Account Manager handles configuration around your existing review calendar, and you can often import your team and start the same week.

Can we bring our existing review history into Upward365?

User and organizational data imports by CSV at setup, using a template. Historical reviews and other records cannot be imported in bulk, but they can be added to an employee's Notes one at a time, which means they surface in History Hub when a manager writes that employee's next review. The old records end up where a manager will read them rather than in a folder nobody opens.

Which one is better for a company of 300 people?

Both are built for that size. Upward365 is the better answer if you want one published price, every Upward365 feature included, a named Account Manager who knows your configuration, and founders you can reach.

How long does implementation take?

You can often import your team and start the same week but this will depend on your availability and scheduling. Your Upward365 Account Manager helps you with configuration around your existing review calendar and runs your training sessions online, and most accounts are fully live within a month or sooner.

Upward365 includes Reviews, 360 reviews, Goals, Uplifts, Briefings, Notes, Flight Checks, History Hub, Pulse Surveys and eNPS at $8 per user per month with a $4,000 annual minimum. Historical reviews and other records cannot be imported in bulk, but they can be added to an employee's Notes one at a time, which means they surface in History Hub when a manager writes that employee's next review.
