A Story Worth Telling

We've spent 15+ years building performance management software for 1,500+ companies. We learned what works, what doesn't, and what was still missing. Performance and engagement operated in silos, and nobody was connecting them. We built Upward365 to change that—and to deliver the kind of service we always wanted to receive ourselves.

We've experienced what works and what doesn't across nearly 1,500 companies

Customer service isn't a feature we added. It's the foundation we built on.

Learn how it all started
and where we are today.

Jan 2013

We started our business in a cornfield (sorta)

Our previous venture took seven years from startup to exit. We served close to 1,500 companies across multiple industries, focusing on the ones caught between basic tools and enterprise bloat. Our midwestern instincts told us to treat every customer like our first.

High-touch service kept our retention strong as we scaled. But customers kept asking for something we didn't have: a way to connect performance data with how people actually felt about their work.

Mar 2013

We launched our first product.

Now we’re launching our next-generation performance management platform. We learned what HR teams actually needed, what they tolerated, and what drove them away. Most of all, we learned that software without reliable support is just an expensive problem. Now we're building the next generation—and doing it the right way from the start.

We learned from 1,500+ customer implementations

15+ years serving companies across multiple industries showed us what worked and what didn't. Customers consistently told us what was still missing: they needed performance and engagement working together, not bolted on as separate systems. They needed it built for 50 to 2,000 employees, not 50,000. And they needed real humans answering the phone when something went wrong.

Jun 2016

We launched Upward365 with those lessons

Performance module launched early 2026 at $7/employee/ month. Engagement module follows shortly at $4/employee/ month. Both together for $10/employee/month with annual commitment. No enterprise complexity. No chatbots. No ticket queues. Real humans who care about your success from day one. No pressure...ever!

That's The Long View. Read how we built this philosophy.

Dec 2018

We're building what SMBs told us they needed

Customers told us they couldn't identify flight risks until it was too late. They needed a system that connected how people perform with how they feel at work. High performance plus low engagement means someone is about to leave. Low performance plus high engagement means a coaching opportunity. Both high means a retention priority. Both low means a problem to address. That's the complete picture—and it's what Upward365 delivers.
